A Brief History of The Coral Hill Baptist Church

1903-2008

It was a cold December Sunday morning when a group of interested residents, fourteeen in all along with visiting ministers and deacons met at a church building at Coral Hill, Kentucky. The purpose of this meeting was to constitute a Baptist Church. So, on December 5, 1903 these people began what is still today called the Coral Hill Baptist Church.

Ministers visiting the group included J.W. Loving, T.G. Lewis, D.K. Slaughter, and J.C. Thomas, and the deacons included J.E. Everett, S.B. Hatcher, N.F. Worthington, and C.E. Johnson were named the first trustees.

Of this group of fourteen, six presented themselves as members with letters of membership from the Pleasant Ridge Church and they were: Alvin Pritchard, Bettie Markham, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Hutchens; and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hulse. The other eight became members on promise of ltter from various other churches and they included: J.H. Foster, Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Eubank, T.B. White, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Luther Eubank, and E.E. Johnson.
